Berry in Lapland, Kilpisjärvi

This summer we managed to get away for a bit and desided to drive all the way to Lapland to see the magical mountains again. So here you are; a bit of Lapland magic filmed in Kilpisjärvi.

This was my first published video that I edited myself by using Adobe Premier Pro! (But of course Miska teached me how to edit and also he helped me with the finishing touches). Miska filmed and color graded the video. It was fun and I learned new skills, yey!

But back to the video. In Kilpisjärvi we climbed this small mountain up where you can see Norwegian mountain tops on the left and also our big Saana mountain on the right. And we saw a very nice sunset as a bonus! It was pretty damn freezing to walk around the mountain top, as it tends to be usually very windy. Especially if you are wearing just a little dress instead of a proper hiking gear... But it was totally worth it!

The scenery was magnificent and I don't know what it is, but there is something magical about Lapland. Maybe it is the northern light or something that makes the place so enchanting. I could stare at the mountains forever. It is really hard to describe in words all the beauty around, you have to be there to exprience it.

Which leads me to my next point. In my video I try my best to capture some of the magic and show it to you guys, especially to the ones who aren't able to get there in real life for a reason or another. In fact, in the beginning, when I was planning on whether or not to start a blog, one of the main reasons for starting it was to offer people 'nature experiences' in virtual world.

For me, wandering in the nature is very important, it gives me joy and sometimes strength to carry on. I remember when I was in this dark place mentally for a very long time, I found joy from videos where people just walked around in the forest. I myself was in a situation where I couldn't just go and run in the forest as much as I wanted to, so the videos helped me.

So I guess this is my way to pass on that good forward. And of course I get to go in beautiful places and create something pretty. So it is a win-win situation!

Hope you enjoyed the film, see you soon!
